Reading the latest posts on your Tumblr Dashboard is so difficult!
If you are not checking your dashboard every 2 mins like certain people do for sure, then you are just fucking lost. It’s on you to decide if you just ignore all other posts than on the first page or if you want to click through the pages.
Because I am following only friends of mine (<20 people) I run through all the pages. My issue here is that I have no clue what posts I have seen at last, there is no time stamp, no visual treatment at all! Just blubs with content, mostly pictures and thankfully captions most of the time. And then friends are reblogging friends all the time, so especially pictures are repeating which is confusing. (…)
I am waiting for an update since ages and addressed other issues and miscommunications on the dashboard before, maybe a year ago? I got feedback, but nothing happened here. There only was this visual treatment and the love thingy which did not solve any problems regarding the reblogging culture.
I am sure they have heard of grouping.
Yes, please. Grouping or something like ‘blind out’ or ‘dislike’ to shrink those reblogs and stuff, I don’t want to see (good example: your weekly top 5 music artists or the 200th reblog of a cute kitty from the explore site) to a smaller bar as it is already with the reblog/like notice. Please. And I am currently following 90-100 people. It’s much harder for me than for Jens.
It’d be perfect if it could be like Google Reader. I want to be able to group the people I follow (like the folders feature), save posts for later (like the Star feature) - and be able to know which posts are read and unread (like the read/unread feature.)
I guess I could just import everybody into Google Reader, but that seems like a hassle, plus I’d like to keep the two things separate if possible.
